Dance of Hope
For one special evening in 2016, the Columbus Dance Festival will host a dance benefit to tackle the heroin epidemic in Central Ohio, specifically to raise money for Marin's Hope. At the center of the heroin epidemic in Central Ohio are people. Our families. Our children. Our friends. Every day we hear about the overdoses—some days in the dozens—and we learn about the deaths. Over and over again.
Heroin destroys communities. Hope create them.
We know that this heroin epidemic isn’t going away unless we all get involved. During the month of October, Next Level Gives is committed to raising $88,000.00 for Marin’s Hope. The Columbus Dance Festival is contributing through the generosity of the dancers, the Columbus Dance Theatre and you.
Marin’s Hope empowers our families, our children, and our friends who are struggling with alcohol and drug dependencies. By providing housing, resources and services, it inspires the hope recovering addicts need to end the stigma and suffering of addiction, supporting their lifelong recovery, which in turn, returns hope to our community.
This evening will include performances by the following dancers:
> Tapestry Performing Arts Company, Lorii Wallace - Artistic Director
> Anna and the Annadroids, Anna Sullivan - Artistic Director
> Columbus Modern Dance Company, Director - Laura Puscas
> David Jon Crohn, Creative Director - Columbus Dance Festival
